I'll never forget my first day!
By Chris

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi there Lisa!
I completely empathize with you. LAst year was my first year of teaching and I will truly never forget it... that first day, I mean. I don't really know what went "wrong." I teach fifth by the way....
but something must have. It didn't seem like my kids were enjoying anything we were doing..and all of the other teachers at my grade level were saying how they were enjoying their first day so much, etc.... I was so upset that I spent the afternoon crying , literally, and then didn't stop until 8pm and thought OH MY GOD, I have to do this again tomorrow. and I have nothing planned!! It
truly was a horror, but you know what,,.. the horror slowly fades...yes I absolutely had many, many sleepless nights, but I also had a very rough class.. I can see in retrospect, so chin up, you will do great....first days are horrible for everyone involved!! Believe me, I thought that day would never get better... but I am entering my second year, so it couldn;t have been that bad... GOOD LUCK!
