"first day activites"
By Tabitha

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach fifth grade and these are some activites I am going to use.
I have them interview each other with specific quesions and then share with the class. Go over procedures, Class Code of Conduct, consequences, and rewards.
Go over everything you are sending home with your students as well. Tell them your expectations then in groups of four have them write down three things that they expect from you.
Let them share what they have come up with. Also in the groups have them come up with three questions they want to ask you. Then let them ask them. I have typed up a techer quiz for them to do at the
end of the day. It is 20 true false questions about me. To see if they were paying attention all day. I also have a little figure that I have them color in to look like themselves. They then write a paragraph about themselves and I post each one in the hall. I also have them write a Biopoem as well. We also will do silent reading and I will read a book to them. To end the day we will go over their homework and do trivia. This breaks the ice and they love it. My students last year couldn't wait to do trivia every Friday. I hope some of these ideas help. If you need anymore just email me. I would be happy to help.
