Open House

Being that your Open House begins before school,you can't put up any student projects. One thing I like to do is have a little contest for my visitors. I usually have a jar of some kind of candy. Visitors guess how many are in the jar, winner takes the jar. I also put up about 15 pictures of famous people and have visitors write down who they think they are. I get the pictures from magazines, trading cards,comics,newspapers, ect. The next day I announce the winner and they get a prize.
Of course visitors tour the class and view the books and materials we will be using as well.
You can also post a parent sign up sheet for classroom parties and field trips.
