We did the same bio poems, but after the students copied them, we mounted them to construction paper and glued them to one side of an oaktag "t-shirt" cut out. The students decorated the other side of the t-shirt with items of their choice--some drew their family, favorites, etc. We are in school from Wed-Fri our first week and this project took up most of each of the three afternoons--while students worked on the t-shirts, I did individual reading assessments and writing assessments for my students. We hung the t-shirts from the ceiling in the room and they looked great for open house.
