Classroom management
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi all,
I feel very uneasy about the idea of posting a classroom chart for all to see. It might be better to try something more individual and private. (Even the high schools are moving away from posting grades, even
when only id numbers are used.) Peer pressure can be such a negative thing, and children are already aware when someone's done something to upset the classroom routines without having to post it.
It's interesting, when I've observed classrooms, the same children nearly always lose their 'green lights'; teachers sometimes tend to ignore a child who doesn't usually have trouble following
expectations and has a difficult day, but the same few students aren't given as much leeway...every situation is different, and it might be kinder to handle it privately. ;-D
