In Santa Clara, Ca it is 40,000. In a couple of neighboring cities it is 45,000 - 50,000. (Sizeable raises were implemented last year). However, before you get too depressed (or plan to move), know that starter homes are about a half million in this area, so all the teachers are either relying on spouses or living with roommates to cut it, (or moving away), just like everywhere else!
