A book idea...
By Krissy

Clip to ScrapBook
When I was in fifth grade (several years ago), my teacher had us write a book. It was a fun project and I still have the book today. We had to write a story from our pet's point of view. If we did not have a pet we could
write from the point of view of our favorite doll/toy we had when we were younger, or the point of view of our grandparents/neighbors pet, etc.

After we wrote a rough draft, we proofread and then took great care in writing in our best cursive for the pages. (Too bad there weren't computers to use as now. Anyway, we were required to have a certain number of illustrations, a title,

author on the cover, and write a short "about the author" biography for the back page. We even glued photos of our pets/toys on the front (now they could be scanned The teacher actually bound these by running the edge of the paper through a sewing machine.

It was a lot of fun and definitely a treasure to keep. I can't wait to do this project with my own students.
