Conduct Grades
By PC

Clip to ScrapBook
I also have to give a weekly conduct grade to my students. Rules are posted in the classroom as well as in a small notebook that also has a class list and a heading M-F. I usually give a warning and then I put the rule number
that was broken next to the students name on the appropriate day. Each infraction is -5 points from a total of 100 points. The nice thing about the notebook is that it travels with my class when they "switch" to other teachers. All 6th grade classes have the same rules posted. On Friday a "Behavior Sheet" goes home with the grade for the week. Parents like this method becasue there
are no surprises on report card day. The only problem arrises when the students don't bring the sheet back. I give them one extra day to return the sheet and after that they miss recess until I receive it. Hope it helps.
