Hi - I can help you some with NJ information. As far as certification, I am sure you'll be able to transfer your certification. I'm not sure what the specifics are. Just call the State Dept. of Education in Trenton.

As far as nice places to live -- S. Jersey is much more affordable -- places like Cherry Hill and Voorhees are nice. But, there are more things to do the further north you go. I live in Central Jersey and like it very much. (nice towns -- Metuchen, Piscataway, Green Brook,) I did grow up in S. Jersey, which is really nice, it's just more rural.

As far as affordable, the further north, the more expensive!
