Conduct grades

Lacey, I have to give conduct grades at my school. Some of the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teachers use a weekly conduct contract. I found it to be very useful. Each child gets a contract to be kept at their desks or with them at all times. There are certain rules written on the contract, and each time a child breaks a rule, they get a check next to it. Points are deducted for each check given. They become very good at figuring out their grade at the end of the week. (Of course I double-check each one.) It is not difficult, and there is not a lot of paperwork. I wouldn't do it any other way after using this. I can e-mail you the contract I use if you are interested. -Sue
