    Tissue paper/watercolors

I did this with my 6th graders last week:

    1) give each student a white piece of tissue paper (9x12)
    2) students will use watercolors (or any other media probably would work) to fill the tissue paper with fall colors. No designs, just fill it with color.
    3) while the tissue paper is drying, each student will take a 9x12 piece of black construction paper and cut leaf patterns out of it. They can cut as many or as few as they'd like.
    4) attach the tissue paper to the back of the black paper. The fall colors will show through the cut-out leaf patters on the black!
