Give Me 5
By LeAnn

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! I use "give me 5" in my classroom. It works well. The idea was taken from Harry Wong's book "The First Days of School" (excellent book). I hold up my hand and say "Give Me 5". The students know what this means and respond well. We rehearse this several times the first week of school. I use this when I need to get their attention. 1. Eyes on speaker 2.Quiet 3.Be still 4.Hands free (put things down) 5.Listen There is one step for each fimger.
