Clip to ScrapBook
I teach second grade and I send out newsletters every Fri afternoon. Sometimes it is a big pain to write them, but that's usually when I have a ton of things to do. There are pros and cons to doing them as in most things.
Like: you spend time writing them, making sure the kid gets it into his bookbag on Fri. and then it turns up on Mon. never having left the bookbag. That gets frustrating. When parents ask you something and it was in the newsletter. I've asked the parents every year if they want it, if they find it worthwhile and they always say yes, and the majority are very good about reading it. I do
have to tell you one story about them, though. One letter I wrote before Xmas gave some hints for stocking stuffers like markers, crayons, etc. The following Mon. one little girl comes up to me and says,"My mom wants to know if that's what she's supposed to give you for Xmas." I just gave a deep sigh and sent her to her seat. So be careful how you word those things!!!
