Writing Process
By Maggie

Clip to ScrapBook
I have used giant pencils labeled with each of the stages of the writing process (brainstorming, drafting, etc...) Then I give each student a mini pencil with their name on it that has magnetic tape on the back side. Each student can then put his/her pencil under the appropriate giant pencil to indicate where they are in their current project. It's a great way to visualize where everyone is and the kids like it because its interactive. Plus, it has really helped my class to understand that writing is a process.
