Morning Routine
By Tina

Clip to ScrapBook
I begin the year by reading to the students on the carpet, right after they have put their back packs away. I find this a great bonding time with the students. We can chat about special things or talk about what they'll learn that day. I read chapter books or picture books. Beginning your day reading is a great statement. This last year I changed my routine a bit because I seemed to have various interruptions, so I had the students begin by working on a 5 a day (math) and line a day (language) activity and then we read on the carpet.
