make a list!

I made myself out a list so I wouldn't forget anything I was going to do the first day. My list includes going over what I expect from my students(example,what rules to follow, what rewards they will get for doing what is expected, and consequences for not doing what is expected). I also go over my grading process, and don't do what I did last year and forget to tell students their class schedules. You can also issue texts and workbooks this day. You may want to have some puzzles or a questionaire for the kids to do while you issue books to keep them busy. I made a list of things to do because when the kids got in the room last year, I froze and was so nervous I forgot everything I had planned to do. I hpoe this helps give you some ideas.
