Open classroom
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Tina,
Some possibilities...move your meeting area and small group activities to farthest area away from the other classrooms. Put listening and a cozy book nook (try to have an old sofa and love seat donated) nearest
to the other teachers. Also put your small group lesson area nearest the other classrooms, you'll be there to monitor noise level. Use book shelves (best if you anchor them with heavy reference books on the bottom, or back to back, less chance to tip over) and silk trees as 'dividers'. You're going to have to practice voice level with your class, which you'd probably do anyway, but
it's critical that they respect the learning of the others. I'd also get together with the other teachers in your 'room' and see what their class schedules look like. Maybe there might be an easy way worked out for all to communicate on times that you're assessing, etc. Best of luck. ;-D
