In response to the nosey parents...

Clip to ScrapBook
I do not mean to scare you...but I do want you to know that in some schools, you personal life can be dragged all around, depending on a lot of things. My good friend (who is a WONDERFUL teacher and person) was fired for
dating the "wrong" guy. We lived in a very small town..he owned a business with his father, worked hard, had a nice house, but some people seemed to think he was a drug dealer (SO NOT TRUE) and she was nonrenewed for contract...it does matter sometimes, unfortunatly. Just keep them separate as possible.

I, too, am just starting out. I did teach sped for a year and a half, but now I have

a fifth grade class..and I know a reg. classroom is soo much different from a sped room. SCARY. I, too, don't know what to do for so many hours that first week. Does it really take a whole week to get down procedures, rules, ect? Ack! What kinds of activities to people do for that first week? Anyone know a website or book to buy???
