Sorry I can't offer much advice, but I do want you to know that you're not alone!!! I've just been hired to teach 2nd grade, and though I had a semester of student teaching, I don't feel a bit prepared. It's scary and overwhelming, but somehow we'll get through it! As far as parents being interested in your personal life, do your best to keep your life personal and out of the public spotlight--I learned that during my student teaching! Hope someone comes along who can advise us both. Good luck!
