I just got a great idea from one of my fellow teachers..... she is going to seat her kids in a circle for the first few days, so that everyone can see eachother, really interact as a whole class first, this also lets you really know who is bossy, shy, outgoing, etc....so then after that period of time as a whole circle, then you can put your kids in groups based on what you see is happening with their personalities...I may do this also...I think it really encourages the idea of community!!! GOOD LUCK!
