Clip to ScrapBook
Hi. I taught kindergarten last year here are some of the things I did:

*I used about 5-7 centers each week. I changed these when all students had had a chance to visit.
* I used bears cut out from an ellison machine
& wrote their names on the different color bears and punched one hole in the top. Each color represented a center. Each student had a zip-loc bag with their bears inside. I used the same colored construction paper to mount the center name. On the bottom of the page I attached brad fasterners so the students could hang their bears on these. I then glued the posters around the room. I
only had the number of brads on the poster that were allowed in the center at one time. When all the brads had bears hanging on the students knew it was full and could not go to another center. I had a sign in the front of the room that said, "Centers opened today" it also had brads on it and I would just hang the colored bears up that were open for the day. At the end of center time I had a student pick up the center bears off the posters and put them in a big bag. I kept their bears until the next week. My assistant would separate the bears and return to the students.
*centers I used were: library, construction, technology, manipulatives, science, writing, music & listening, dramatic play, art
I hope this wasn't too confusing for you. It really is a great way to know who has been to what center.
