Go to any book store or even your curriculum development person. Get a book caled How's It Going? by Lucy Calkins and you'll be hooked on writing. It is fabulous!! When you finish that book buy or borrow a second one called
Awakening the Heart, Exploring Poetry in Elementary and Middle School by Georgia Heard. Both books are fabulous and worth having. You will never complain about not having lessons, bulletin boards, etc. because your children will give back to you so-o-o- much. You can make centers, projects, presenations, almost anything to stop yourself from being the writer and make your kids

wriite. You can also make bulletin board from materials on your computer if you are not artistic. Just use the cut and paste and then enlarge or put the original on an overhead to enlarge. The kids will be happier and so will you. They will be so exciting that they will look forward to having you every day. My Mother's Day project was the heart on the cover, with the kids putting in memories about their mother they have experienced for the number of years they knew her. I teach 4th grade so they had 9-10 things. Good luck. If you need visuals I'll send you copies of my designs.
