I would highly recommend Tools for Teaching. I read Harry Wong's First Days of School, when I first started. Before each school year, I try to freshen up on my classroom management techniques. This year I thought I'd try something new, so when someone else suggested it, I ordered it. I have been reading it for a few weeks now and find that it is just what I need to "sharpen" my skills before school begins. Frankly, I'd recommend both Wong's and Jones' books for first year teachers. It's worth the investement.
