Welcome to our world! I think every good teacher has the same doubts you mention. Even now I sometimes question what I'm doing and wonder if it is going to be appropriate for my particular class. If you've been reading| this board for a while you will already have seen a lot of advice on materials, schedules, curriculum and the like. I would add that your student teaching is a time to take careful note of what your master teacher is doing and why it works. Jot down things you want to ask later and then make time to really listen to her explain why she did things a particular way. She has a lot to offer | | you. You'll probably not teach in exactly the same way, not use the same style, not value exactly the same materials. But you will have the opportunity to see first hand how an expert handles all the difficulties of a regular classroom. Things not to miss if at all possible:The first day of school - see as many first days as you possibly can, then your own won't be as frightening. Halloween and other crazy holidays, as well as the days before and after major holidays. Other teacher's classrooms - visit other classrooms in your school if at all possible. Assemblies, field trips, guests - so you'll see ways to handle all these situations. Make notes! Good luck to you. You will be very busy. You'll probably cry at least one day. You'll get dirty (depending on the grade you teach) and you'll catch every germ that comes along. You'll also be the recipient of some great hugs and you'll be loved by your students if only for a little while.
