It might be a good idea to devote an entire wall to frequently misspelled words, an appropriate grade level word wall, and transitional words to use during writing (however, after all, eventually, after, next, etc.). Also
think about a wall or bulletin board that reinforces the correct grammar, capitalization, and punctuation rules, and have another that focuses on parts of speech--nouns, verbs, etc. Words to use instead of said, happy, nice..etc. Frank Schaeffer school supplies have many appropriate writing related posters/resources. Think also about setting up a display that outlines the steps to the
writing process. Leave bulletin boards free to display student work. Similarly, it might be a good idea to set up a display that highlights the types of writing you will do this year (descriptive, narrative, expository, etc.) and have a modeled sample of each available on the display for student reference. A poetry corner, a letter writing corner, a listening/notetaking corner, a journal writing area, etc. The list could go on and on........... Enjoy! It sounds exciting to devote an entire room to writing!
