Few Writing Ideas for 3rd
By June

Clip to ScrapBook
1. Letter Writing Center: Send home a letter asking all your students to bring in stamps, envelopes, stationery, a list of potential family or friends they could write to, and a folder to keep all supplies. They love to
write!
2. Letters Home Journals: Every Friday afternoon, I had them write a letter (in their Letters Home Journals) to a family member. They had to write 6 sentences describing what they did in school that week, what they learned, etc. They could bring it home and the family member was asked to write a letter back (directly into the journal). They could not wait to read the letters!

3. Weekend News: Every Monday (morning) the students would write about their weekend and then share it with the class. I save all their weekend news till the end of the year and then I stapled it and made a book for them.
