"Age"
By Gloria

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Misty
I think you are right in saying it is changes in the education system instead of always the age of the teacher. I consider myself a young "old teacher". This will be my third year of teaching and I am 52. I find
that many of my ideas are newer than teachers who are younger, but have been teaching for several years. One advantage that I have over younger teachers is that I have a lot of life experiences including world travel. My students love it when I share items that I have purchased in countries that we are studying as well as stories. Another advantage: my kids are grown so I have gone through
just about everything dealing with kids. My grandchildren are the same age as my students-which keeps me up-to-date on the "new things".I don't think it is the age, but the person. Our ideas must always be fresh, our energy level hign, and our love constant.
