    when I taught for a small Catholic school with no money and just a purple ditto machine, my partner and I bought a small Canon copier together. The partners across the hall did the same thing. In fact, we all went to Office Depot together to buy them.

    It was a great decision and it saved us so much aggravation and time. The only downside I recall is that we really gave that little machine a beating and it lasted just the year. The drum developed some issues, or something like that.

    But this also was 15 years ago, so I'm sure that the lower cost would help offset the possibility that the machine might not last that long.

    I would do it again in a second; in fact, reading your post and then thinking about how far I have to walk across campus to a copy machine has got me thinking ... I think I'll check out that ad! ;)
