I have worked with bilingual Bosnian students but not Spanish...the one thing I learned quickly is don't assume anything....my Bosnian students can speak English very well but many of the common vocabulary words go right past them. Words that have more than one meaning or idioms are very difficult for them. When a student assures you he knows what that means or he knows what he's doing....look out! I'd usually do some questioning to be sure he truely did know what was what. You'll learn a lot your first month. I'd bone up on their religious holidays if you're not familiar with them. Many Bosnian's are Muslim and I knew nothing about their religion...I had to learn fast so as not to insult them.
