Life?

I sometimes feel like a Class-A Dork because I love thinking and talking about, planning and anticipating, and doing teaching. I have had people tell me I need to get a life. I feel that can either be a joke or an insult depending on how it is said. I heard another person who happens to eat, sleep, and drink technology/computers (and by the way is responsible for most of the technology and training we have in our district) answer a sarcastic, "You need to get a life!" His answer is one I'll never forget, and I have used since hearing it.

He said, "I have a life. This is it!" We do it because it's not just a job but a passion. It's who we are teachers/learners! Our students not only learn content from us, they learn to love learning!
