In about 2 minutes (and I'm not kidding!!!) I found 3 picture books I want to read for writing personal narratives with my 5th graders: The Relatives Came In My Momma's Kitchen My Ol' Man. The best thing is I already have these books in my classroom!!!! You (and I) could easily find some to use for D5. It's not just a list. There are summaries of the stories and recommendations for use.
