Classroom responsibilities
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi all,
Another help would be to have a 3 ring notebook with a class list form each child would use to 'sign in' each morning, and check off if the homework was in or not...with a basket beside to turn the assignments
in. A helper could use a class list to check the book and track down anyone who hadn't remembered to sign in.
I've used magnets as well as clothes pins, depending upon the class, these work very well or you're constantly replacing pins or repositioning magnets.
A lunch count form where the kids sign their names under what they're having might be useful. This would also help if
you're a large school and the sixth graders don't get their lunch choice if the younger kids change their minds; you can have them line up according to their choice on the list.
My kids used to do attendance as well, til the attendance clerk called some parents of children who were 'absent' only to find they were really in school (the kids mistakenly put an 'X' by the wrong name, not their fault, but it caused some anxiety among parents who were worried their child was 'missing' for a few minutes...
Good luck ;-D
