Clip to ScrapBook
My own experience is that age matters quite a lot for most teachers. I've seen new teachers who were "born to teach" doing an excellent job their first year. And I've seen 30 year veterans botching the job year after year. But by and large teachers need a few years of experience before they become competent at a very difficult job. And life experience - the stuff you don't learn in school - requires time to acquire. I know I'm a better teacher because I have travelled, met people, read broadly and dealt with situations in my private life.

Good luck in your research. I'd love to hear what your conclusions are.
