direct instruction reading

Clip to ScrapBook
Becky, I agree with Brenda on the book. It is very good. Let me go a step further and recommend Open Court's Reading and Writing program. This was published around 1995, and they have had revisions since then, but none is
as good. This is the best DI program I have ever seen, and have used it for the past 5 years for remedial students. Another wonderful program that is incredibly successful deals not with just reading but with the underlying foundational skills that are so necessary for learning, (processing, tracking, attention, etc). It is called Wehrli Performance Training, and has been around for over
25 years. Not new and fancy, but an incredible breakthrough for learning! I have used this ever since my first son had such difficulty reading and nothing else worked. That, with a combination of Open Court, is a no-fail combination. Feel free to contact me if you want further info. Tcsjkeg@iolky.com Tina
