You could use large ziplock bags (I like the ones with real zipper thingies) to hold your manipulatives. They are inexpensive and can be replaced if they tear. The baggies can be hung, stored in a drawer or large box. It's not as pretty as clear boxes, but you can still see what's in there and they stay organized and available. I've seen really big ziplock bags at Sam's Club. They probably hold 2 gallons.
