What works for me
By Rhonda

Clip to ScrapBook
I wish I could claim this idea as my own, but I borrowed it a few years ago when I was studnet teaching in first grade. I have used this idea with all ages and it works great!

Label a nameplate with each of your students names. (I wrote their names on a small pencil notepad. Another teacher who liked Pooh labeled honey pots.)Laminate for durability. Place a small magnet on the back of the nameplate. Divide the side of your file cabinet or a small corner of your chalkboard into sections. Label the sections: Breakfast, Lunch, Both, Brought. When students arrive in the morning, they should place their nameplate in the appropriate column. This takes care of attendace and lunchcount at the same time. It works like a charm!
