checking homework
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
My method for checking homework is to have the kids hold up their homework paper facing me at the beginning of class. This way, I can see at a glance who does and who doesn't have it. I quickly mark on a checklist who doesn't have the work. It's a very quick method of checking. Then we go over it together. At the end of class, I have the students pass the papers along the row, and then I have the last person in the row bring their row's papers up. Works well for me. Students who don't have their homework finished have to fill out a paper, which is to signed by their parents, about why the homework was not completed.
