    Right to Read Week

We mostly did school wide reading activities for Right to Read week in May. Here are some things we did:

Book Reviews- posted outside every classroom, teacher picked top 2 from the class. They won a prize
What I want to read over the summer sheets- Students went around the school looking at book reviews and finding books to read over the summer
Author Visit- He read his book to the whole school and then visited classrooms to sign books and answer questions
Library Visit- to talk about their summer reading program
Family Reading Night- Games and Reading activites. Everybody took home a free book too! Half Price Books donated them!
Book Quotes in the morning- students guessed in classroom and got a pencil for being correct
Reader's Theater- Title I kids performed and wore costumes. There regular class came and watched them
Pop A Top for Reading- Everyone stopped what they were doing a had a drink or pop and read.

These are what we did last year for the week. We've done other things in the past. Hope this helps!
