Controverial words(N-word) in literature
By Jazz

Clip to ScrapBook
I feel that all your suggestions are worthy. I also know that the children of today are very knowledgeable in the use of that word. I feel that if you explained your feelings of why not to use that and not to leave it out when reading. This is part of history and as an African American I feel that all children need to be aware of the harm of a word and what it was intended today. In many African American homes today(not mine) the word "N" is used as a joke or as a play word. Most of these African Americans would never allow a person of another race to call them this and I for one think that it shouldn't be deleted from literature. If you are uncomfortable saying it I would at least say the Capital N word when reading these great novels.
