Bad Classes
By Carol

Clip to ScrapBook
I have never had a bad class. I have had some that were more challenging but I ended up enjoying those years more than the years that ran rather smoothly. So, my experiences have been different than yours.

I will tell
you that it is important to get rid of that black cloud, TODAY. You have to walk into the class with confidence and joy. I can almost guarantee failure, if you do not do this. Children pick up on these things, immediately.

Work out your classroom structure. Make sure you are well organized and that the children know what you expect. Never threaten if you are not going to follow through.

Be consistent.

Think of some activities, for the beginning of the year, that you personally will enjoy, as well as the children.

Keep them working. Make sure your transistions between subject go smoothly and quickly. You will find that a busy structured class with a caring teacher will have little time to be difficult.

Good luck to you.
