There is a great palm tree made out of an appliance box and poster board...you attach dark purple balloons for coconuts (It is in the Family Fun magazine...August 2001)....you may also find it on their website...

oriental trading company has a lot of things you can purchase to use as decorating....
I agree with the post that you need to think about your objectives; however, an inviting room makes a HUGE difference!
You may want to see if Sea World has a website (I'm sure they do)....they may have many educational ideas....Sea World has visited our school a few times to give presentations (once

about whales and another time about penguins). I know they will travel to give these presentations. You may want to consider writing some type of a grant. Good luck and have fun!
