You need to read the book about poverty written by Ruby Payne--not sure of correct title but I think it is Dealing with Poverty. I think the cover is Red. She really deals with poverty head on and puts you in the middle of what it is like to live in poverty. Once you read her book you will also understand that teachers are just one step up from poverty after you look at the qualifications of being classified as "Rich"
