First Job too!

Hi,
I was just hired as a first grade teacher, and I just graduated from college too. I remember my partnership teacher from my internship tell me that it is really important to let them know you are in charge, but that it is always possible--and necessary!-- to be kind and loving too. That is quite a balance, and I know it will be tough to find it as new teachers. I also firmly believe though, that the heart of a true teacher will be able to enable her to overcome any challenges with patience and perseverance. You can do it! Plus, the kids might not be so bad after all. Even if they are, you were put there for a reason. You might be just the one who can turn these kids around...
