Phonics book
By Debbie

Clip to ScrapBook
I found the book "Month by Month Phonics for Third Grade" by Patricia M. Cunningham and Dorothy P. Hall to be a wonderful resource. It gives easy to use lessons and word lists in a monthly format. Everytime a new activity is introduced, the authors give a little theory as to what the kids will get out of it and why they need that kind of activity. (Good for explaining to parents.) The activities include word walls, word sorts, making words, using words you know to figure out new words, cloze activities, and more...all to transfer phonice between reading and writing. It was on of my "bibles" last year.
