if you write on something that is laminated, you can wash the Sharpie off with nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, or the EXPO spray you use to clean your dry erase board. I just squirt some EXPO cleaner on a tissue, and wipe away! I love that trick!!!
I made passes from a package of Mary Engelbreit cards I picked up at Michael's for $1.00 (ten passes for $1.00). I cut them apart, used a sharpie to write the information/blanks on the back of the decorated front of the card. Then I laminated them, and when I send a student to the office or nurse or wherever, I just write on it with a permanent sharpie. It won't wash off or wipe off if it gets wet - but with a little Expo cleaner, it washes right off when they bring it back to me :)
