Clip to ScrapBook
I teach fifth, but I have also taught the lower grades. Even in fifth grade the kids need concrete models of discipline. A chart of the rules and consequences on the wall is helpful, but you also need something concrete to show how they are progressing. I, myself, have tried just writing names on the board or a clipboard. Just writing them on a clipboard, the kids may argue with you that they didn't lose recess, etc. Writing them on the board is more concrete than writing on a clipboard--at least they can see their progress--but the best way seems to be the color-coded strips or cards.
