AM
By Jessica

Clip to ScrapBook
Hello all!
Last year was my 1st year teaching and the school's 1st year with the AM program. Each of my 5th grade math classes were approximately 70 minutes.
I taught whole group instruction for 40 minutes, worked
on assignment for about 10 minutes ( to check for understanding). Then I said "AM" and they worked on AM for the last 20 minutes. I got some really good ideas from AM seminar.
***Blue cups= student needs help
***Red cups on desk= student is testing (Do not Disturb)

The class really seemed motivated and almost competetive w/AM. Each time one made a 100% on a TOPS report
they received a candy stick. I would also have a 100 objective club& rewards.

The kids would be so involved in their work that it was actually quiet in the room, so we would listen to Mozart (brain music).

Since we didn't have much time to work, the students were to work on AM for 15 minutes Every night.---Hope some of these ideas help.
