Ditto, ditto, ditto. This program takes entirely too much time (90 minutes every day) and leaves little time in your day for anything else. We are entering our 4th year teaching it. You never know what reading level you
are going to teach from one assessment (8wks) to the other, therefore, you cannot be creative OR plan ahead. What's important in this program is that you WATCH THE CLOCK!! God forbid if you spend 25 minutes doing listening comp instead of the alotted 20 minutes (because you've captivated your audience)!! You will lose points during the implementation visits if they "catch" you truly
teaching(yes, they do come in and check up on you-- that you are doing the program correctly) and your school receives a "report card" on what you're doing correctly or "incorrectly". Yes, it did raise some reading scores, however, test scores are not the reason I became a teacher.
Good luck.
