class management
By Kim

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Carol! I also teach 2nd grade. One thing I have found to be important is to be consistent as much as possible. What you expect from the first day of school is what they will give you. I use a couple different things
for classroom management. I found something called "High 5" off a website last year and it worked great. I made a poster of it and within a few days the kids new exactly what to do. When you want to get their attention, say "High 5" with your hand in the air. It means you want their eyes looking, ears listening, mouths quiet, hands still and minds thinking. I also give rewards such
as candy or stickers at the end of the day if they have not had to have their name moved from the envelope system I use. They always look forward to that. There are lots of things you can use, these are just a few of the ideas I use. Hope it helps and good luck in 2nd grade.
