I doubt that you get to negotiate your contract at all...that's up to the union, unless the district you are signing with doesn't have a union. If there is a union then it's a take it or leave it deal. You might see if there is a deadline as to when you need to join the union by. In our district if you haven't signed with the union by Nov 1 or there abouts you're out of your job. Look to see that the pay scale is what they said it would be. I'm sure it will be.
